The Arbour
After
walking round the town or flicking through this book in order to get acquainted
with Tata's traditions and treasures, let us stop for a while - even if
in our minds only - at the small arbour in Kodály Square. There is something
to remember here, too: we can recollect Tata's former music life, Bernát
Menner, the conductor and composer, our artists, Lajos Dobroszláv for example,
or the brisk craftmen: the weavers, millers, potters and shoemakers. We
can chat about the societies which offered real communities for the inhabitants
or, just as in the arbour's case, they undertook goals, noble tasks in
their town's interest. The Circle of Tata's Friends, the autors of the
arbour's restoration, also have the same goal: to multiply the number of
Tata's true friends..
